APEC CCHE 2016
Description
The Fifth APEC International Conference on Higher Education "Ensuring Interdependence and Quality in Education Systems of APEC Economies" is held as part of the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok on September 2-3, 2016 at the Far Eastern Federal University on Russky Island. The conference is organized by the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum Human Resources Development Working Group (HRDWG APEC), Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU), and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. 21 APEC economies (official delegations) participated: Australia, Brunei, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Canada, China, Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Peru, Russia, Singapore, United States of America, Thailand, Taiwan, Philippines, Chile, Japan. Level and number of participants: deputy ministers of education and directors of the respective departments of APEC economies (60-70 participants).
Results
The Conference program consisted of two sessions, at which the key priorities for the development of APEC economies were discussed: a strategy for the development of education in APEC, investments in human capital, ensuring effective cooperation in the field of education, inclusive economic growth, and their impact on regional development. The participants of the event paid special attention to the formation of the agenda for the 6th meeting of the ministers of education of the APEC economies, which took place in October 2016 in Peru.
