Research

At the School of Education, the research work is conducted in a wide range of the main scientific areas, which were formed on the basis of the long-term scientific studies and scientific research results in various institutions of Russia and abroad:

• Philological sciences

• General pedagogy, the history of pedagogy and education

• Historical sciences

• Economic sciences

• Biological sciences

Students’ research work is conducted both as part of the educational process (graduate qualification works and course works) and as part of the extra-curricular activities: participation in conferences, contests, academic competitions and other types of scientific events; participation in scientific circles, clubs, and scientific and methodological seminars. Students are actively involved in vocational counseling events and scholarship programs.

The School of Education organizes and conducts various scientific events (round table discussions, conferences). The most significant of these are the following:

• Regional research and practical conference for high school students and first-year students “First steps in science”.

• Student scientific and practical conference “Current problems of psychological, pedagogical, social-humanitarian and natural sciences”.

• International scientific and methodological conference “Philological discoveries”.

• All-Russian interuniversity scientific and practical conference “National priorities of the contemporary Russian education: the problems and development prospects”.

The School of Education maintains scientific contacts with a number of universities and research institutions in Russia and CIS countries such as Herzen University, Moscow State Pedagogical University, Lomonosov Moscow State University, Higher School of Economics (National Research University), etc. The university professors take part in conferences, seminars, and competitions that are held in more than fifty Russian universities, as well as they referee theses and act as opponents at the defense of dissertations.

The "Visiting-professor" program was conducted within the framework of the FEFU Competitiveness Program and contributed to the development of interuniversity relations. A number of leading universities professors gave lectures and seminars at the School of Education

The School of Education has signed an agreement with the Academy of Pedagogy of Xiamen University (XMU) in order to create an innovative platform and realize the scientific research on the issues of individualization of higher pedagogical education in Russia and China. The School of Education has also signed an agreement with Gyeongbuk University (South Korea) that implies the further study of the implementation of interactive methods in education.
