Upon Arrival

As soon as you arrive and get a room, please go to the International Department in E745.

It is also required to visit the visa office in E744 to get a local registration coupon.

Please bring your passport (copies of all pages), migration card and visa. This is a very important step; if you don't do this, you may get deported from Russia and will have to travel here again.

Visa

Please regularly extend your multi-entrance visa (it should have more than 2 months before expiration at all times), because if not, please go to the visa office in E744 for extension. Visa costs are 2100 rub.

Money

Please take cash with you (in USD, Euros, Yuan), enough for the tuition fee payment and for everyday expenses. Please mind that Visa and Master Card do not currently work in Russia.

Climate

Please mind that Russia is a cold country. Climate in Vladivostok can be quite cold in winter, as everywhere in Russia. Students usually arrive for the first time during the fall season, so it's necessary to be prepared for winter.

In winter, temperatures can go down to -15°C -20°C degrees below zero; it's windy and cold in general. Proper winter clothing is required (down-padded coat, hat, gloves, winter boots, etc.). All campus buildings and hostels are centrally heated though, it’s comfortable in hostels and in study buildings in winter. In summer it's +25°C, humid and warm.

Power Supply

In Russia, power supply is 230V A/C, plugs standards used are Europlug and Schuko. Please take appropriate travel plug converters, if necessary.

Cell phone network

Mobile phone sim-cards are easily available in Russia, you will need a passport to purchase one. Network coverage and speeds are decent. Most usual mobile network standard is 4G. Free Wi-Fi is available in the campus.
