Petro-physical substantiation of the remote sensing techniques for fire face advance when extracting fossil fuels

The competitiveness in the energy industries entails the promotion of new techniques based on burning the fossil fuels in the natural conditions of their deposits. The promotion of new innovative power complexes is impossible without further developments of remote sensing techniques forflame front advance with the controlled burning of underground coal seam. Taking into account that, in the course of thermal action, the coal mass and its mineral compound undergo considerable physicochemical transformations, the authors consider the methods of field geophysics efficient for the remote testing of flame front along the entire seam. To justify the possibility of the application of geophysical methods, petro-physical investigations into the coal seams and the rocks within that underwent the thermochemical transformations should be carried out.

Key words: coal, petro-physics, magnetic, electrical properties, thermal activity.
