Regenerative design as the framework for recovery of the Vladivostok ecosystems (using the example of the Obyasneniya River)

Abstract: The article deals with the regenerative design in relation to urban design and architecture. Through that design one can solve the problem of recovery urban ecosystems and it may be regarded as a new step in the sustainable design. Basing on the collected materials, there has been formed the strategy of the regenerative design. With regard to the urban conditions, for the first time, the ways of the regeneration of the urban ecosystem have been regarded comprehensively. There have been proposed a graphic model of the ecological infrastructure of Vladivostok that takes into consideration the current regime of the use of territories as well as the regenerative design of one of the elements of the author’s model, that of the ecological corridor of the Obyasnenniya River.

Key words: regenerative design, ecological infrastructure, ecological framework, urban ecosystems, Obyasnenia River, renovation, eco-architecture, sustainable design.
