Structural and parametric space
of ship structures and technologies in PLM systems

Abstract: One of the major challenges in modern industrial production, including shipbuilding and ship repair, is the management of design, technological and production information throughout the entire life cycle. The use of automated systems such as CAD, CAPP (CAD systems), PLM and ERP in the preparation of production creates problems for their correct interaction. These issues are of particular relevance under the modern conditions of striving for the widespread use of cyber-physical systems in production (Industry 4.0).
In the authors’ opinion, to solve this problem, it is required to form a single information space that summarizes the necessary and sufficient information in a systematic way.
The elements of a generalized image of the product, which is represented by two information cores (the object core and the technology core), provide a basis for the formation of the specified space.
The generalized model of the structural and parametric space of the PLM system for the representation of object and technological images provides an information basis with the rules for describing hierarchically interrelated sets, elements, structures, as well as their properties. This model can serve as an integrative basis for CAD, CAPP and ERP systems; it creates the prerequisites for the formalization of the technological processes and production plans development in terms of the actual loading of resources.
Keywords: structural and parametric space, PLM systems, CAD integration, object image, technological image, ship structures, ship technologies.
