Optimization of characteristics and structural elements of fishing vessels subject
to random factors in their routine operations
Abstract: A lot of practical experience has been already gained in design and operation of fishing vessels; however, such aspect as interaction between the complex system and the external stochastic environment still requires a more detailed study. Creating an adequate fishing boat design methodology for the Socialist Republic of Vietnam is an urgent task. Using optimization and simulation methods and procedures in the early stages of ship design allows to increase the adequacy of mathematical models and obtain more informative probabilistic criteria for decision-making. The article examines the basics of the methodology and the mathematical model of optimization of the characteristics and structural elements of fishing vessels, taking into account stochastic and dynamic environmental factors on the criterion of probability of trouble-free work. This criterion is focused on introducing an ideal point (achieved level) and finding pareto-optimal solution closest to it as possible.
