The effect of the density of the structure of composites and the extent to which they are saturated with water on the changes in durability when freezing and thawing

The article presents the results of the author’s pilot studies in frost resistance of polymeric concretes. It has been demonstrated that the destruction of the concrete exposed to freezing and thawing begins with peeling and microcracks appearing on the surface. The dependence of the frost resistance of polymeric concretes on the extent to which the material is saturated with water has been studied. The procedure of the mathematical planning for the experiment enabled the authors to determine the optimum quantity of components and fillers providing the enhanced frost resistance of polymeric concretes.
