Color-spatial modeling of hiking walkways scenario

Abstract: Improvement of tourist routes as pedestrian paths in the suburbs and urban forest park areas can be one of the directions for the development of the recreational system of cities. The article deals with the problem of preserving and using the peculiarities of the natural landscape when designing a recreational tourist route. The authors justify the necessity of creating a methodological base for designing a tourist route; accumulating modern technological capabilities and taking into account the peculiarities of the psycho-emotional perception of the natural landscape. To create such a methodology, a scenario method for architectural landscape design has been adapted. The choice of the method determined the view of the natural landscape as a stage space with the original compositional organization. A review of the practice of designing pedestrian routes revealed the role of the coloristic component of the aesthetic potential of the natural landscape in the choice of strategy for the scenario organization of the route. The authors proposed systematization of techniques for using color-textured and spatial characteristics of various carriers of chromaticity – landscape (vegetation, geology) and landscaping (materials of architectural structures, paving, and art objects). The use of color contrast-nuance allows standing out or dissolving in a natural environment, creating accents, reference points, setting the rhythm of movement, and changing the condition of perception in space diversifies.

Keywords: tourist route, landscape, natural color, script, color-spatial modeling.
