Contact compliance in the calculation of rivet and cone joints
Abstract. In the development of modern high technologies and industries, the tasks of designing and creating high-precision instruments and precision-class engineering products become relevant. The solution of these issues is impossible without considering the processes of contact interaction between the joints of machine parts in static and dynamic operating conditions. The article presents the results of theoretical studies of contact compliance in the mating of riveted and conical joints and its effect on the engineering strength and rigidity of the entire structure. Based on the author's physical and mathematical model of mechanical contact and a refining calculation method, the main contact parameters and conditions that affect the formation of contact compliance, and hence the strength and rigidity of the interface as a whole, are identified, namely: the material and its physical and mechanical characteristics, geometric parameters of surfaces roughness, contact area, static and dynamic loading conditions and operation of the contact pair. To study the contact compliance of specific joints, a refinement method was used, which makes it possible to perform a traditional strength calculation, taking into account the parameters of static and dynamic contacts in the joint. The conclusions obtained are recommended for use in the design of connections and units of machines with a predictable service life and normal operation.
Keywords: contact compliance, the author's method of accounting for contact parameters, conditionally fixed joints, mechanical contact, dynamic loading, energy dissipation at the contact
