To the optimization of the shape and structure of the ship's hull from the system standpoint

Abstract. A fairly simple and effective method of optimizing the shape and structure of the ship's hull from a system position, taking into account performance, longitudinal strength and torsion, is presented. Three interrelated tasks are formulated: the first is to optimize the shape of the hull in order to ensure performance according to the criterion of minimum resistance of water to the movement of the vessel and the requirements for the strength and manufacturability of structures; The second is arrangement of premises, placement of cargo and supplies to ensure the specified fit and stability, simulation of bending moments and shear forces in still water and in rough seas, determination of the stress-strain state of structures (based on an equivalent beam). Optimization of the hull shape and elements of the equivalent beam of the vessel are presented, which make it possible to identify the best design and structural solutions and assess the economic effect. Particular attention is paid to the trimming of the vessel, determination of stresses and displacements in the hull connections in still water, at the top and bottom of the wave (during deflection and bending of the vessel), on an oblique wave (during torsion).
