A simulation-based assessment of passenger vessel effectiveness
Abstract. At present research we describe a method oriented to assessment and improvement the operation efficiency of marine passenger vessels in real conditions. In this paper the algorithm and block diagram of a simulation model oriented to numerical simulation of passenger transportation process in Vladivostok city are presented. The results of numerical modeling and economic efficiency assessment of a passenger catamaran “Moskva” are presented as for real annual passenger traffic distribution as for schedule operate conditions with different values of passenger loads and ticket prices. As a result of the study, it was found that the existing system of maritime passenger transportation is not effective and requires changes to bring it in line with modern realities.
