APEC CCHE History

Enshrined in the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda, Incheon Declaration of 2015, and Education Strategy of 2017, these aspirations bring APEC economies together under a single leadership in meeting the information technology challenges of a new Digital Age. Together, the economies of APEC respond by offering equal and qualitative education for all, enabling capacity-building networks, and speeding up innovation. APEC focuses on fostering collaboration in education and training and recognizes the paramount role of education in facilitating sustainable inclusive economic growth. In light of the Fourth Industrial Revolution that brought about new technological advances, better regional collaboration on information and communication technologies (ICT), and a higher priority drawn to the integration of digital tools into the educational process become a necessity. Therefore, global stakeholders, and primarily, APEC economies are in need of renewed approaches to higher education, applied digital technology, and information to give a new impetus to human development investment. This requires a multilateral approach to considering the challenges and full mobilization at all levels of Cooperation.
