Artur R. Nagapetyan,

Candidate of Science (Higher Attestation Commission, FEFU)

5.02.13 Mathematical, statistical and instrumentsl methods in economics

Supervisor’s research interests

Development of economic and mathematical tools for the analysis of cause-effect relationships between economic indicators, assessment of the effectiveness of the impact of programmes.

Microeconometric quasi-experimental methods are used (instrumental variable method, difference of differences, regression discontinuity method, synthetic control, etc.), spatial (spatial autoregressive modelling, including SAR, SEM, SDM, SAC models) and financial econometrics approaches (ARIMA, GARCH, DCC, DPI, ML, NL).

Study program highlights (при наличии)

The results are used to design and develop data-based services to improve the efficiency and targeting of management decisions in the real sector of the economy (including their subsequent commercialisation).

Supervisor’s specific requirements:

- Basic knowledge of econometric modelling approaches (disciplines: econometrics, applied microeconometrics)

- Basic skills in R/STATA/Python environment (one to choose from, preferably R)
