Optimization of ship hull structures, taking into account their manufacturability
Abstract. A fairly simple and effective way to optimize ship hull structures at the early stages of design according to the criterion of manufacturing cost, taking into account propulsion and strength in order to reduce their metal consumption and improve manufacturability, is outlined. Two tasks are being solved: the first is optimization of the hull shape to ensure propulsion (by the criterion of minimum water resistance to the movement of the ship) and, at the same time, a rational increase in the length of the cylindrical insert, the area and number of flat sections, surface sections with a curvature of one direction and, therefore, the minimum number of standard units and structures; the second is the optimization of ship hull structures according to the criteria of minimum weight and cost of their manufacture. The results of optimizing the shape and structures of the ship's hull are presented, which make it possible to identify the best design and technological solutions and evaluate the economic effect. Particular attention is paid to the study of the dependence of the mass and cost of manufacturing structures on the topology, spacing, sizes of frames and beams, thickness of the skin and floors, as well as on the organization and production technology.
