Comprehensive improvement of the efficiency of lubrication systems of marine medium-speed diesel engines with high boost
Abstract. The results of operational tests in a forced diesel engine of a lubrication system of increased efficiency are presented. The purpose of the study is to improve the lubrication systems of marine diesel engines with high boost. The purpose of the study is to improve the lubrication systems of high-pressure marine diesel engines. The importance of combining full-flow oil filtration for reliable protection of diesel bearings from the ingress of large particles of mechanical impurities that cause abrasive wear, with means of centrifugal deep cleaning from finely dispersed insoluble products that intensify its oxidation, has been proved. The indicators of filters and centrifuges, the complete set of which lubrication systems of engines makes it possible to fully realize the advantages and benefits of different cleaning methods according to the principle of operation, are substantiated. A comparison is made of the purification efficiency of motor oils of medium and high functional levels. It has been proved by a motor experiment that when operating on distillate oil products - marine low-viscosity fuel or DO - resource-saving oil use in marine forced medium-speed diesel engines with an average effective pressure of 0.8–2.4 MPa is achieved when operating on M-10G2CS oil and cleaning its full flow filter and bypass centrifuge.
